Hello everyone,
We got a phone call this morning from our son who is currently deployed with the US Marine Corp. He was injured yesterday in a firefight in Marjah Afghanistan. He was shot in his left calf. He had just gotten out of surgery and recovery when they allowed him to phone us. He tells us that there is no bone fracture and no damage to his tendons but that he has some pretty significant muscle damage. He will need additional surgery and rehab when he arrives back in the US. We are not sure what happens next but he says he gets to come home. We are thankful to have this news from Tyler himself as that means he is alright. Please pray for safe travels as he makes several stops in various countries before arriving. Please also pray for his upcoming medical needs and rehab so he can build a future beyond the Marine Corp. Ty credits a fellow Marine with saving his life by dragging him 100 feet out of the line of fire after being hit. As always, please keep these brave men and women in your prayers. They have been in constant combat since their arrival in Afghanistan. My sons unit, consisting of 3 companies has 16 men injured or KIA.
